I just got word that my blog with Women’s Health, Men’s Health and Gatorade is now LIVE! Of course, at 5 pm on a Friday in June! I’ll write more about it later but for now enjoy my posts about "Race Anxiety" and working out with an urban jungle gym!
This weekend, I’m headed out of town for a wedding! This would normally be welcomed with mojitos, cake and greasy brunch food but next week, I have a meeting with Joe Dowdell. Joe is kind of a big deal in the fitness industry. He’s one of the best trainers and has one of the nicest, high tech facilities. He’s going to be doing some scientific fitness tests on me. One is body composition. I’d rather not look like a lazy, cocktail and cake loving lady
that I am in front of him. Joe is a Gatorade Master Trainer and my meeting is for the Crushing The Course Blog, of course.
However, at my Pilates session today at Equinox (with Henneke who was amazing), I was asked what my goals were when I came to the gym. I have many answers for this generic trainer question but today I went with the vanity answer, “I workout so that I can eat dessert and drink wine, and maintain my level of fitness and weight.” (I workout for many, many, many more reasons, but does the trainer really care if I tell her it makes me happy and relieves stress? She just wants to know if I hate it really, which I don’t. I love it!)
In conclusion, I plan to go running on Sunday so that I can enjoy myself at the wedding without thinking about my meeting with Joe. Why do you workout out? What are your fitness goals?
